New network for alumni: PH Heidelberg promotes alumni contacts!
On March 9, 2025, the Heidelberg University of Education professionalized its alumni area. Alumni manager Alexandra Gräber has been in charge of management since the winter semester 2024/2025. The official starting shot was given during the graduate celebration at the end of January 2025, where the new alumni received a small symbolic gift: a plant that represents the growth and development of the alumni.
The university aims to create a strong and increasingly growing alumni network. Graduates can register in the alumni program to stay informed about current developments at the university and to benefit from a wide range of offerings. This is provided in collaboration with the Friends of PH Heidelberg e.V. and other institutions.
Networking and continuing education
The alumni program includes regular meetings that promote contact between graduates and professors as well as other employees and fellow students. The combination of networking and further education offers that provide insights into innovative educational research offers a valuable opportunity for exchange.
Alumni of the university are active in various fields, including teaching, research and pedagogy. The program is designed to support the exchange of practical and theoretical expertise.
The first biographies of alumni have already been published on the university's homepage, and impressions of the graduate celebration can also be found in a current blog post. Detailed information about the alumni network is available at www.ph-heidelberg.de/alumni-netzwerk available. The network is also active on LinkedIn to promote contact and exchange among alumni.
Tradition and support
The importance of the alumni network is particularly evident at the graduation ceremonies. For example, on July 20, 2024, such a celebration took place in the old building of the university, where Rector Karin Vach, Prorector Karl-Heinz Dammer and Professor Lissy Jäkel said goodbye to the graduates into the world of work or into further study programs. The event was musically accompanied by the vocal ensemble PolyPhonics from the Heidelberg University of Education.
After graduation, the university's support services continue to be available to alumni. This not only includes further training opportunities, but also the opportunity to make nostalgic visits to campus to reflect on your time at the university. Through the alumni program, former students gain access to an extensive network and valuable career opportunities.
The initiative to involve alumni in ongoing exchange is not just a trend, but a fundamental part of modern higher education. Alumni programs promote long-term relationships between former students and their institutions, not only to maintain their own contact, but also to form a strong network that benefits everyone involved. Further information on the importance of alumni programs is also available on the website Career Bible to find.
Those interested have the option to contact via email address alumni@ph-heidelberg.de to record. Alumni can clarify questions or give feedback on the programs at any time.
