The University of Konstanz has once again received impressive ratings in the current university ranking 2025/26 by the Center for Higher Education Development (CHE). The results show that the university offers excellent study conditions in several subject areas. In particular, the subjects of German studies, psychology and Romance studies were re-evaluated and were recognized in the category of support for students in the sensitive phase of starting their studies.
For students of psychology and German studies, it is particularly emphasized that they are ranked in the top segment in the area of “degrees in a reasonable time”. In addition, the University of Konstanz achieves top results in psychology in the categories “Publications per scientist” and “Third-party funding per scientist”, which underlines the research-oriented quality. Psychology students consistently rate their experiences at university above average.
High student satisfaction
The study also shows that psychology students rate the offers of career orientation and support for stays abroad particularly positively. The general study situation, study organization and practical orientation in teaching also received above-average grades. This confirms the comprehensive and high level of student satisfaction, which was determined by surveying around 120,000 students from over 300 universities.
The CHE university ranking is known for its attention to detail. Frank Ziegele, Managing Director of the CHE, emphasizes that around four out of five departments at German universities offer preparatory or bridging courses to support new students. In addition, more than half of the departments evaluated received top marks for the study situation.
