Future of teacher training: Virtual event in Karlsruhe opens doors!

The Karlsruhe University of Education (PHKA) offers prospective teachers comprehensive study opportunities in teacher training courses. On September 18, 2025, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) announced in a press release that the focus of the teacher training courses is primary school and lower secondary level. These courses are intended to prepare future teachers to promote the personal development of students in various subject areas.

In Karlsruhe there are several ways to start studying to become a teacher. The university is organizing a virtual information event on October 1, 2025, starting at 4:30 p.m. Participants do not need to register and can take part via Zoom from 4:15 p.m. In addition to an information lecture, the event also offers experience reports and exchange opportunities with students and professors.

A wide range of study programs and entry requirements

The teacher training course at PHKA includes various programs. These include master's programs for primary and lower secondary level, both of which can be studied full-time and have entry requirements with Numerus Clausus (NC). There is also the option of specializing in Islamic religious education, also with a master's degree in primary school or lower secondary school teaching.

Another notable course offering is theology/religious education, which is valid at both the bachelor's and master's levels for primary and secondary school. These courses are also full-time offerings and are subject to the same entry requirements.
