Energy experts meet: International conferences in focus in 2025!

Politechnika Wrocławska hosted the international conference “International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering – Student Edition” (EEEIC StEd) from June 20th to 22nd, 2025. This event brought together participants from six countries: Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, India, Pakistan and China. A total of 55 participants presented 23 scientific contributions, with 18 contributions coming from Germany and 5 from Poland. The topics covered current issues in energy and environmental technology that are of central importance for future development. A conference proceedings documenting all contributions will be published shortly, reports the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

The conference offers a platform to promote scientific publications and also promotes intercultural dialogue, especially in the German-Polish-Czech border triangle. Industry partners such as Tauron Dystrybucja reported on innovative solutions in the areas of automated network management and protection technology. Particularly worth mentioning are the excursions to a newly built 110 kV SF₆ switchgear, a modern gas and steam combined cycle power plant and the WAGO ELWAG Sp. z o.o. plant. Next year the 25th edition of the conference will take place at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

As part of the IRES, Prof. Peter Droege, President of EUROSOLAR, emphasized the need for partnerships for a successful energy transition. The topics included aspects such as strengthening resilience, self-sufficiency and new business models. Dr. Peter Schossig from Fraunhofer ISE highlighted the importance of storage for the decarbonization of industrial processes. This conference took place alongside the Expo for Decarbonized Industries (decarbXpo), which attracted over 100 exhibitors. Keynotes were given by Prof. Dolf Gielen (IRENA), among others.

Outlook for the 2025 energy conferences

In 2025, energy and mobility will be the focus of global sustainability efforts. As a recent overview from HIVEPOWER shows, energy conferences are crucial for exchanging ideas about trends and challenges in the areas of renewable energy and mobility. The most important events include:

event Date Location Participant
smarter E Europe 2025 6th-9th May 2025 Munich, Germany approximately 2,500
MOVE 2025 London 18-19 June 2025 London, UK 650
Hello Tomorrow Global Summit 2025 13th-14th March 2025 Paris, France 3,000

These conferences promote not only exchange but also the development of new technologies and business models in a rapidly changing global energy environment. These include other event formats that deal with topics such as e-mobility and decarbonization. The conferences therefore offer a valuable platform for experts to exchange information about the latest developments and develop innovative solutions.

Overall, these events make it clear that progressive exchange and cooperation in energy storage and renewable energies are crucial to mastering the challenges of the future.
