The fascination of 3D printing: Formnext 2025 in Frankfurt – a must for innovators!

The Formnext 2025 trade fair, which will take place from November 18th to 21st, 2025 in Frankfurt am Main, attracts the international additive manufacturing community. Loud BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg The event will welcome over 850 exhibitors and around 32,000 visitors from all over the world. Formnext is considered the world's leading trade fair for additive manufacturing and industrial 3D printing.

The trade fair focuses on innovations along the entire value chain, from the design to the end product. Over 800 additive manufacturing companies will present their latest developments. The focus is not only on innovative technologies, but also on practical industrial applications that promote the exchange of knowledge and technologies, such as Threedom reported.

Insights into the exhibition

The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg will be represented at the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region in Hall 11.1, Stand D39. The research cluster “SpreeTec neXt – New manufacturing technologies for components and systems of decentralized energy technology” presents various specialist areas, including:

  • Polymerbasierter Leichtbau
  • Füge- und Schweißtechnik
  • Produktionswirtschaft

Current research focuses include:

  • Additive Fertigungsverfahren für Metalle und Kunststoffe
  • Rapid Tooling und Anwendungen im Werkzeug- und Formenbau
  • Werkstoffentwicklung für energie- und ressourceneffiziente Prozesse
  • Laser- und Lichtbogenprozesse für die Energietechnik
  • Reparatur- und Beschichtungskonzepte
  • Digitale Konstruktionsstrategien vom Werkstoff bis zum Bauteil

Anyone interested is cordially invited to visit Hall 11.1, Stand D39 and find out about the latest methods and techniques.

Early bird discounts and supporting program

Ticket sales for the event have already begun and an early bird discount is available until October 21, 2025. The supporting program offers an insight into the practical applications of additive manufacturing in various industries and complements the extensive exhibition with lectures and workshops.

Additive manufacturing is constantly evolving. Current trends focus on larger components, higher manufacturing speeds and more cost-effective processes. Technologies such as liquid metal printing and metal binder jetting show the potential for new applications and cost-efficient manufacturing processes, also in the context of research at Fraunhofer IGCV Fraunhofer IGCV presented in detail.

With over 32,000 visitors expected and a host of innovative exhibitors, Formnext 2025 will be the key meeting point for industry professionals and anyone interested in the future of 3D printing and additive manufacturing.
