Sustainable production in focus: Innovations for Brandenburg’s companies!

The Cross Cluster Conference Sustainable Production will take place on July 10, 2025 with a clear focus on resource efficiency and the associated potential for companies in Brandenburg. The event aims to present the automated processes and lightweight construction technologies of the future as well as shed light on the role of digitalization and artificial intelligence in modern production. The conference, which can be attended free of charge, offers a platform for exchange and innovation.

The program offers several interesting formats, including five innovation tours that provide insights into various areas of sustainable production. Tour 1 is dedicated to the lightweight materials of the future, while Tour 2 addresses the new manufacturing technologies in the area of ​​decentralized energy technology. Tour 3 shows how automation and robotics can help reduce CO₂ emissions and conserve resources. The fourth tour deals with microsensors and digitalization, particularly with applications in agriculture and environmental monitoring. The final tour combines the event with career advancement opportunities through the BTU Career Center.

Panel discussion and exhibition area

A central element of the conference will be a panel discussion at 3:45 p.m. that will address innovations for growth and stabilization through resource efficiency. In addition, an exhibition area gives visitors insights into several research projects and initiatives. These include, for example, the Research Center for Landscape Development and Mining Landscapes, which offers solutions for sustainable land use, and the Lausitz Science Park, which highlights future fields such as energy transition and decarbonization.

The exhibition area will also present programs from the Center for Scientific Continuing Education that support professional qualifications in the sustainability sector. Start-ups like HochQuant show how scientific ideas can be turned into market-ready innovations.

Brandenburg Innovation Prize 2025

Another highlight of the conference is the awarding of the Brandenburg Innovation Prize 2025 by the responsible ministry. The award recognizes visionary projects and outstanding achievements in the area of ​​sustainable production. This year the prizes go to companies such as “WFS Clearwater Lift” from AMS Alteno GmbH, the “reffiSchaf” project from the project community Frankenförder Forschungsgesellschaft mbH, Biomanufaktur Havelland GmbH and Gut Hirschaue GmbH & Co.KG as well as “MB fire-resistant fire protection door made of wood” from the project community MB Fensterbau Beelitz GmbH and MB Brandschutztischlerei Beelitz GmbH. A special prize will be awarded to Potsdam-based Sectorlens GmbH for its AI-supported platform “Find Your Software”.

Participation in the innovation tours is limited due to capacity reasons, which is why early registration is required by July 4, 2025. Various options are available for traveling to the event at the Startblock B2 start-up center; a bus stop is right in front of the venue. It is recommended to use public transport as parking is limited in the surrounding area.

The Cross Cluster Conference is therefore not only a platform for technological innovations, but also a crucial step towards optimizing manufacturing processes with the aim of saving resources and reducing emissions.
