New opportunities for international students: Double degree in Germany!

The collaboration between Nexford University and Constructor University represents a significant step in the educational landscape. A joint hybrid study program was launched to offer students worldwide an academic degree and an entry into the German job market. This initiative will be available from the 2025/2026 academic year and will allow students to start their training online at Nexford and complete it at the Constructor University in Bremen. Loud Constructor University Up to 50% of the course can be completed online, which brings significant cost advantages for students, especially by reducing moving and living costs.

The program is particularly aimed at ambitious learners from Southeast Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Graduates of Constructor University also have the opportunity to obtain an 18-month visa for Germany, which makes access to the labor market easier. The curriculum is specifically tailored to the requirements of the European labor market. 78% of graduates in Europe are employed professionally, with 70% finding a job within three months of graduating.

Integration of international students into the German labor market

The challenge of attracting more international students to the German job market has become increasingly important in recent years. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has found that Germany has a growing skills gap. Every year, around 75,000 international students start studying in Germany, with around half of these courses taking place in MINT subjects. A position paper with ten recommendations from the DAAD DAAD published, calls for more commitment from politicians and universities in order to double these numbers by 2030.

The central recommendations include increasing the number of international first-year students through improved marketing and better integration into the labor market. Political and structural obstacles should be removed. The DAAD has also submitted a proposal to the federal government for a funding program to support the qualifications of international students.

The role of international study programs in Germany
