Start your career: Social Work Information Day on June 27th!

On May 16, 2025, Leuphana University will focus on the opportunities offered by the part-time bachelor's degree in social work. This course, which runs over seven semesters, is specifically aimed at state-recognized educators with at least three years of professional experience. It is possible to acquire state recognition as a social worker or social educator. The content of the course covers various aspects of social work, including legal, educational, socio-medical, psychological and economic topics.

Another feature of the course is that two semesters of teacher training are credited towards the bachelor's degree. Additionally, additional professional experience or further training can be recognized. However, those interested do not necessarily have to have a high school diploma; Completed training and relevant professional experience are sufficient to qualify for the course.

Information days and exchange opportunities

In order to offer future students a comprehensive information base, two events are planned at Leuphana University. A Professional School information day will take place on campus on Friday, June 27th. This event offers the opportunity to exchange ideas with study coordinators and existing students. There will also be an online information day on Saturday, June 28th, which is specifically designed to introduce the bachelor's program in more detail. Study organization and important dates

Students in the 2025 summer semester can look forward to an already published timetable for the 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters. Activation into the iCMS system is expected to take place on February 5, 2025. Important registration times were announced on November 11, 2024. It is particularly important for students in the 5th semester to register for module 213 Social Conditions of Social Work III, as the course is only available for one of the two dates offered.

Introductory dates for first semester students have also been set. These include an introduction to examinations on March 24, 2025 and an introduction to the library on April 7, 2025. Both events take place from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in special rooms.

Registration for scientific colloquia is also possible for the part-time bachelor's program. Registration periods for the winter semester 2024/25 run from November 13, 2024 to December 15, 2024. Science colloquia that begin in January 2025 usually last from January to July and offer students valuable opportunities to deepen their knowledge.
