On October 6, 2025, Dr.-Ing. Oliver Grönlund appointed as a new member of the University Council of the University of Kassel. Grönlund, who serves as Senior Vice President of the Center of Excellence Infusion & Pain Therapy at B. Braun Melsungen AG, brings extensive experience in medical technology. He is responsible for around 6,000 employees in the areas of operations, technology, R&D and regulatory affairs at 13 locations worldwide. Since joining B. Braun in 2011, he has made a significant contribution to the strategic development of key company areas.

Grönlund established new structures in the area of ​​research and development and headed the Development Center IV-Systems. He leads international teams and implements innovation strategies in the development of closed IV systems and in the introduction of new product generations. Since 2021, he has been Senior Vice President for IV-Systems & Urology and is responsible for ten global manufacturing locations. An important milestone in his career was the integration of the Pain Control/CVC department into the Center of Excellence Infusion & Pain Therapy.
