TU Clausthal Alumni Day: Science and fun for all generations!

On June 20, 2025, Clausthal University of Technology will hold its Alumni Day, which will begin at 2 p.m. in the Aula Academica. Under the motto “Quo vadis: Clausthal University of Technology through the ages,” alumni can view the new exhibition on the history of the university on the first floor. The event is already fully booked, which underlines the great interest in connecting the past and present.

However, this is not the only celebration on this day. Parallel to Alumni Day, the Long Night of Science takes place from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. This event, which returns after a break of several years, will be hosted in the various buildings of the university, in particular in the main building and the Institute of Mathematics. The Erzstrasse also becomes the scene of numerous activities.

Diverse program of the Long Night of Science

The program includes a wide range of lectures, demonstrations and hands-on activities. A special highlight will be the Science Slam, which will take place in the Mathematics Institute from 8 p.m. and will bring seven scientists on stage. A total of over 40 events are planned as part of the Long Night of Science, which will be held in cooperation with the Clausthal-Zellerfeld city festival.

Another highlight of the evening is the Clausthal Midnight Scream, which is celebrated at midnight on Marktkirchenplatz by Guido Füracker. This traditional event promises to round off the evening on a festive note and launch participants into a night full of research and culture.

The Future Discovery Day took place on Thursday, June 19th, bringing almost 400 students to the TU Clausthal campus. The young visitors were able to take part in experimental lectures, complete guided tours and experience the science fun show with science magician Oliver Grammel. Offers such as popcorn in the physics lecture hall and in the main university building as well as cozy breaks in the green area opposite the cafeteria ensured relaxing moments.

Thanks to the organizers

Clausthal University of Technology is grateful for the support of the organizers of the Future Explorer Day and the events in the Marktkirche, which made the diverse program possible.

There is also a wide range of online events for the alumni community in the Alumniportal Deutschland. These include virtual coffee breaks, lab talks, seminars, workshops and online lectures, which not only promote exchange but also further training. Such offers are particularly valuable for German experts and international alumni who want to learn and network together. The alumni portal brings together activities and educational offerings from various German organizations and thus provides comprehensive learning and networking opportunities for participants. Current information about online events is also available and offers further opportunities for further education and exchange in the global alumni community.
