Mathematical basics are essential for many courses, especially in the areas of mathematics, physics and technical and scientific disciplines. In order to optimally prepare first-semester students, Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) offers the free online intensive course “uni:fit”. The aim of the course is to repeat mathematical basics and close gaps in knowledge. Participants can use learning videos, online tutorials and practice exercises to prepare for the specific requirements of their degree programs. In addition, “uni:fit” is suitable as preparation for course-specific preliminary courses in the various faculties at LUH. The Leibniz University Hannover highlights that the course covers topics such as elementary arithmetic, analysis, linear algebra, differential and integral calculus, trigonometry and complex numbers.
Course content and procedure
The intensive courses are specifically designed to give participants a comprehensive overview of the essential mathematical topics that are relevant during their studies. The program is structured in such a way that it includes both the development of new content and the repetition of school knowledge. Prospective students have the opportunity to check and refresh their school knowledge of mathematics. The bridge course offers test and learning units that are based on the school material of secondary levels I and II.
