The most exciting fake show in Bielefeld: Decide on AI truth!

The interactive show “The only true fake show” will take place in the knowledge workshop city of Bielefeld on October 4, 2025 at 8:15 p.m. This event is part of GENIALE 2025, which has the motto “AI and us” and will take place from September to November 2025. The aim of this show is to discuss with the audience the truth of AI-generated images, invented videos as well as myths and prejudices surrounding artificial intelligence. The participants, three scientists from Bielefeld University, remain anonymous and will only be announced at the start of the first round of the game. The show is moderated by Nele Kießling and Marvin Meinold.

The organizers found inspiration in major TV game shows of the 90s, such as “The Price is Hot” or “Family Duel”. The interactive component allows the audience to actively participate in the decision-making process via smartphone, making the experience direct and exciting. Entrance tickets are already available online via the Wissenwerkstadt.

GENIALE 2025 in detail

GENIALE 2025 begins on September 6th and at the same time celebrates the one-year anniversary of the knowledge workshop city. This was operated by Bielefeld Marketing and has recorded almost 160,000 visits since it opened in September 2024. A birthday party will take place all day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Wilhelmstrasse 3.

The GENIALE 2025 program includes over 50 formats and 300 dates, including workshops, science shows and exhibitions, aimed at a broad target group, including children, families and school classes. Particularly noteworthy are workshops such as “AI and Inclusion”, “AI Applications in Everyday Life”, and “Explaining AI to Children”, to name just a few. Excursions that offer insights into research will also be part of the offer. Most events are free, but registration is required.

Diverse collaborations and supporters

GENIALE 2025 is supported by a variety of institutions, including Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Bielefeld University, Paderborn University and OWL University of Technology. The Bielefeld Natural History Museum as well as the Senne Vocational College and the Bethel Theater Workshop are also involved in the design of the program. The project is also supported by a network of companies such as Bertelsmann, Bethel, DMG Mori, Goldbeck, Stadtwerke Bielefeld and Volksbank Ostwestfalen.

At the same time, BIBB is researching how artificial intelligence can support young people in their career choices. Simple digital portals and AI-based advisory services are intended to make it easier to access suitable careers. For example, a chatbot called “Aidy” is used to provide personalized information about the recognition of foreign professional qualifications. The aim of the research is to improve access to vocational training. The BIBB also deals with the necessary AI skills for trainees and the practical application of AI in training.

Overall, the GENIALE 2025, in combination with the “Fake Show”, promises an exciting examination of the role of artificial intelligence in our everyday lives and offers numerous information opportunities and interactions for anyone interested.
