Art extravaganza in Essen: Woman in Blue conquers the museum!
The Folkwang University of the Arts is remarkably committed to the artistic engagement with the diverse world of Alma Mahler-Werfel. As part of the “DOPPELBILDNISSE” festival, a variety of events are offered, which will take place from March 20th to June 22nd, 2025. This includes, among other things, the opening of the exhibition “Woman in Blue” on March 19, 2025 at 7 p.m. in the Folkwang Museum. - **Sinfoniekonzert VIII**: Am 20. und 21. März 2025 in der Philharmonie Essen, mit Alma Mahlers Fünf Liedern in einer Orchesterversion von Jorma Panula.
- **Symposium über Alma Mahler-Werfel**: Am 21. März 2025 um 15:00 Uhr im Aalto-Theater, das sich mit ihrem kompositorischen Schaffen beschäftigt.
- **Musikalische Performance**: Am 24. und 27. April 2025 im Museum Folkwang, die das Exil von Alma Mahler in Los Angeles thematisiert.
- **Tanzinszenierung**: Am 6. bis 8. Juni 2025 im Museum Folkwang, die performative Aspekte zu „Frau in Blau“ einbezieht.
In addition, a “moving finissage” will take place in the Folkwang Museum on June 21, 2025. It will be thematically linked to an evening “Vienna around 1900” in the Essen Philharmonie, where a connection between the various artistic disciplines will be created.
