Art extravaganza in Essen: Woman in Blue conquers the museum!
The Folkwang University of the Arts is remarkably committed to the artistic engagement with the diverse world of Alma Mahler-Werfel. As part of the “DOPPELBILDNISSE” festival, a variety of events are offered, which will take place from March 20th to June 22nd, 2025. This includes, among other things, the opening of the exhibition “Woman in Blue” on March 19, 2025 at 7 p.m. in the Folkwang Museum. This artistic event marks the start of the festival, which focuses on the colorful personality of Alma Mahler-Werfel and her influence on art and music. Folkwang reports.
The focus of the events is not only the works of Alma Mahler and the painter Oskar Kokoschka, but also an interdisciplinary encounter enriched by music, theater and visual arts. Further artistic contributions come from the areas of singing, musical theater, musicals, directing, acting, dance and design courses. The festival website doppelbildnisse.de offers deeper insights into the event offering and the specific requirements for access to the free events. The respective access regulations can be found on the venue websites.
