Long Night of the Piano: Masterpieces and magic in the landscape park!
On June 28, 2025 the Long Night of the Piano take place in the Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park. From 6:00 p.m. to midnight, visitors can expect a multifaceted piano program that includes masterpieces of piano literature from four centuries. The event is staged by Folkwang University students and features both well-known and rarely heard pieces.
A special highlight will be the late night program from midnight, in which the cycle “Simple Lines of Inquiry” by Ann Southam will be performed. The focus will also be on the installation “Giant Dandelions” by Olivia d’Aboville, in which larger-than-life dandelions form an impressive forest.
Ticket information and pricing
Tickets for the Long Night of the Piano are available in advance for 22 euros, reduced for 17 euros. Tickets cost 25 euros at the box office, while the venue ticket is available for 15 euros. Further details are available on extraschicht.de.
An overall cultural experience
Simultaneous to the piano night, a variety of program items will take place in the landscape park that combine music, culture and acrobatics. Duisburg-Nord Landscape Park highlights that entry into the gasometer diving area or historical film recordings in the cinema library are also offered. Visitors can also take part in interactive offers from the city archeology and biological station.
The musical program also promises a lot: artists such as Felipe Baldomir, Anissa Loucif and the band Wildes Holz will perform between 6:00 p.m. and 1:05 a.m. For acrobatics fans there is, among other things, the performance “KOLKA” by the Bencha Theater and performances by slackline professional Lukas Irmler at dizzying heights.
Additional attractions and tours
Another spectacle are the historical medal casting demonstrations, which are carried out by former ironworkers. The blast furnace also provides extraordinary insights: visitors can have fun abseiling or in the climbing garden.
The event promises a unique experience in the scenic and historically attractive ambience of the landscape park, which offers a variety of highlights for both music lovers and those interested in culture.
