New professors and exciting events: This is how the winter semester starts!

On October 7, 2025, Folkwang University will once again focus on its academic community and the associated services. The current personnel announcement introduces new professors who will enrich the range of courses. As part of these innovations, the event calendar for the winter semester 2025/26 is now available online. Tickets for the events in October and November can be purchased now.

An additional highlight at the beginning of the winter semester are the tours of the library on the Essen-Werden campus. These are offered in both German and English. The first appointments for those interested are on Tuesday, October 7th at 12:00 p.m. and Friday, October 10th at 12:00 p.m.

Advice services for students

The university's central student advisory service offers confidential help for students, both in German and English. The open consultation hours are designed flexibly and can be held both in person and via Zoom. Furthermore, the Folkwang Career Service and the Body Consciousness Forum are available to all students from the first semester onwards. These initiatives offer valuable information and exchange opportunities between teachers, graduates and experts.

The cafeteria on the Essen-Werden campus reopened on Monday, October 6th. Current meal plans are available on the Student Union website and provide an overview of the university's culinary offerings.

Career prospects at FAU and employment agency

Students at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) also gain insights into the job market. There is an extensive job portal available that lists all vacant positions at the university. The positions offered cover various areas such as research, teaching, IT and administration, as well as opportunities for students, internships and theses. FAU also cooperates with Stellenwerk.de to present regional and national job offers.

The FAU Career Service acts as a central contact point for companies looking for suitable candidates. This service will be further expanded, particularly for the Department of Economics and Social Sciences in Nuremberg.

Additionally supports the Employment agency Research assistants, postdocs and experienced academics in the transition from their studies to the job market. offers advice on topics such as professional goals and strengths as well as developments in the labor market. The consultations are varied and include individual discussions via video, telephone or in person by appointment. Advice formats on professional fields and macro developments are also part of the program.
