New Germany scholarship: 3,600 euros for students in OWL!
Students and prospective students now have the opportunity to apply for a Germany scholarship at the University of Paderborn. As the University of Paderborn reported, the annual scholarship amount is 3,600 euros and is aimed at enrollments for the winter semester 2025/26 at the University of Bielefeld, the University of Paderborn, the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Technology and the Detmold University of Music. The application deadline ends on May 5, 2025.
This scholarship is particularly attractive because it is granted regardless of income. Students can also receive the funding in conjunction with BAföG, and the payment is made without any intended use. Half of the financial resources are provided by the federal government and the other half by private sponsors from the OWL region.
Application modalities and criteria
To apply for the scholarship, interested students must fill out an online form on the OWL Study Fund website. The application period extends from March 15th to May 5th, 2025, 11:59 p.m. The OWL Study Fund Foundation explains that the application consists of several components, including a letter of motivation, a CV and other evidence of academic and personal achievements.
Important selection criteria include good to very good school or study performance as well as commitment to social, community or political issues. There are also certain exclusion criteria, such as simultaneously receiving a scholarship from a gifted organization. Inquiries about the Deutschlandstipendium should not be directed to the student secretariats or chairs, but rather directly to the responsible contact person.
Promotion and support
The Deutschlandstipendium is considered a partial scholarship and represents financial support that does not have to be repaid. The Studies online highlights that the scholarship is also part of a comprehensive non-material support program that includes seminars and events that offer the scholarship holders additional skills and networks.
A transparent selection process structure will be implemented as part of the program. Applications are checked for formal requirements and forwarded to the responsible selection committees. The final selection takes place without interviews, making the process a straightforward and fair one for applicants.
The Germany Scholarship at the University of Paderborn therefore offers an excellent opportunity for students to financially secure their academic career. With a well-structured application process and various selection criteria, it takes into account academic achievements as well as individual commitment and social backgrounds.
