Makers United in Chemnitz: Children discover the world of psychology!
The Chemnitz Children's University is hosting an exciting lecture on June 21, 2025 as part of the “makers united” hands-on and tinkering fair. This takes place in the Chemnitz town hall park from 10:00 a.m. and is aimed at inquisitive children between the ages of eight and twelve. Loud TU Chemnitz The event will be led by presenter Simón Albers, who is known to many from the knowledge show “Woozle Goozle” on Super RTL. The topic of the interactive lecture will be everyday psychology, with the aim of introducing young listeners to simple psychological effects.
An example of such an effect is the confetti illusion, which shows how colored nets around fruits and vegetables can increase their freshness and attractiveness. Admission to this lecture and to the entire hands-on and tinkering fair is free. The fair itself will take place from June 19th to 22nd, 2025 and offers over 120 hands-on activities in the areas of technology, crafts, art and science, which are summarized under the term STEAM.
Diverse offers at “makers united”
The “makers united” trade fair is aimed at young and old and aims to promote tinkering, experimentation, research and discovery. During the event, actors from the maker scene from around 20 countries will present their projects and invite visitors to take part. The first makers will be in Saxony from June 1st, 2025 to prepare for the festival, and a maker pop-up in the Roter Turm gallery will offer daily activities from June 2nd to 18th, 2025.
Particularly noteworthy are the student days on Thursday, June 18th and Friday, June 19th, 2025, which are open to school classes after prior registration. On Saturday, June 21st and Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, the event will be open to all visitors, giving everyone the opportunity to take part in the numerous activities. Children's University - insights into science and research
The Chemnitz Children's University is a special series of events that aims to give children between the ages of eight and twelve an insight into the world of science and research. The lectures are designed specifically for this age group. Loud AKAD Children can not only listen here, but also actively participate. The aim is to encourage curious minds and get children excited about scientific topics.
