Pride Week at TU Dresden: Diversity and empowerment in focus!
On May 28, 2025, the Technical University of Dresden will provide insights into the lives of its students, especially through the vlog of Henriette, who is studying biology and mathematics to become a high school teacher. Her vlog is a platform that highlights various aspects of her studies. The insights range from laboratory experiments to visits to the Saxon State Library (SLUB) to leisure activities such as cheerleading training. These diverse topics not only offer useful information for prospective teachers, but also show the exciting sides of campus life in Dresden. The aim of the vlog is to address prospective students who would like to get to know both the courses and the city better. There are further videos on the “TUD Try” YouTube channel that address the challenges and joys of everyday student life.

Pride Week at the Faculty of Education
Pride Week has several goals: It is intended to stimulate reflection processes, promote networking among (queer) people and enable further training and professionalization. In addition, visibility should be created and diversity celebrated through the exchange of perspectives and experiences. A varied program accompanies the week with workshops, lectures and social events, all aimed at creating a better understanding of gender and sexual diversity.
Highlights of the program
- Montag, 17.06.: Einführungsveranstaltung „Queer Basics“ gefolgt von einem Grillabend.
- Dienstag, 18.06.: Workshops zu sexualisierter Gewalt und ein Leseabend.
- Mittwoch, 19.06.: Vortrag über mediale Repräsentationen von Queerness.
- Donnerstag, 20.06.: Bastel- und Musikveranstaltung, sowie Workshops zur sexuellen Bildung.
- Freitag, 21.06.: Workshop „Queersensibel Lehren“ und ein Picknick an der Elbe.
Pride Week ends with a common meeting point for Queerpride at Nürnberger Platz to strengthen visibility and cohesion in the queer community. Registration for workshops is possible through the OPAL course, and questions about accessibility can be directed to the student council by email.
In summary, with its commitment to diversity, egalitarian education and the promotion of inclusion, TU Dresden shows how important these topics are for modern educational institutions.
