On June 21, 2025, Chemnitz University of Technology will celebrate at the TUC Sommernacht with music, dance and culinary highlights in the inner courtyard of the Böttcher Building.
TUC summer night: Celebrate, dance and enjoy on June 21st in Chemnitz!
The TUC Sommernacht is one of the most exciting events at Chemnitz University of Technology. This year it will take place on June 21, 2025. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., while the official event begins at 6:00 p.m. and continues until midnight. The popular inner courtyard of the Böttcher Building, located at Straße der Kulturen 62, will be the setting for this festive evening. Participation is free and the event is aimed at members and relatives of Chemnitz University of Technology as well as their families and friends, including recent graduates and their accompanying persons.
The TUC summer night will be accompanied musically by a selection of talented DJs and music lovers from the university. The highlights include, among others, appearances by Prof. Dr. Anja Strobel and Giuseppe Sanseverino. A special attraction will be the salsa crash course run by the student initiative “TUC dances”, which offers dance enthusiasts the opportunity to move on the dance floor. For those who prefer a quieter atmosphere, cozy card and board games are available in the Altes Heizhaus.
Culinary diversity and premiere of the digital mascots
Another highlight of the event is the culinary offerings. Visitors can look forward to a variety of dishes. Among other things, there will be a barbecue stand from the Chemnitz-Zwickau Student Union. The beer garden also creates a sociable atmosphere. Specialties from Lebanese cuisine are available from Bistro El-Mina, while ChebureQueen serves Ukrainian delicacies. Sweet crepes from Le Parisien and a cocktail bar run by the student clubs, which offers reduced prices for students and employees, round off the offering.
An exciting new element this year will be the introduction of the digital mascot family TUCelino, TUCelina, TUCelinchen and TUCelinackel. This premiere promises to bring an additional entertaining element to the event.
An unparalleled campus experience
Events like the TUC summer night are essential for campus life. They strengthen the sense of community among students, lecturers and the local community while promoting personal development. Such gatherings increase students' engagement and sense of belonging and enrich their experiences through a diverse range of activities. Last year (2024) already offered a successful TUC summer night on June 15th, which impressed with an exciting program of music, dance and culinary offerings. The evening was enriched by musical performances by well-known personalities and DJs, including DJ Ginger and Professor Niedobitek. The series of events is considered an unforgettable experience on the Chemnitz University of Technology campus and will certainly find other imitators in the future.
