Satisfaction check: TU Chemnitz starts important student survey!
Chemnitz University of Technology is preparing for a new round of its online survey *TUCpanel*. This survey will take place from April 28th to May 9th, 2025. The target group is all students at Chemnitz University of Technology and TUCed who have been enrolled for at least one semester and can give their opinions on their satisfaction with the study conditions. The website www.tu-chemnitz.de/tucpanel/mitmachen and the short link mytuc.org/tucpanel are available as access routes. TU Chemnitz reports that The survey particularly focuses on the areas of teaching, artificial intelligence and sustainability.
In order to make participation easier, the content of the questionnaire was further developed and shortened so that students can submit their opinions more quickly and efficiently. The results of the survey are not only important for improving the degree programs, but are also incorporated into the work of the equal study commissions, which include both teachers and students.
Improvements through TUCpanel
The implementation projects that resulted from previous surveys are diverse. They include a revision of the degree programs, a better distribution of examination formats and infrastructural changes, for example the establishment of a common room. The aim of these measures is to sustainably improve the study conditions for both new and existing students. TUCpanel 2024 has already shown that such surveys are essential for documenting progress in faculty development.
An incentive to take part in the current survey is the raffle of TU Chemnitz hoodies after the survey is completed. This measure is voluntary and participation is anonymous. A minimum number of five participants per course of study is required to evaluate the results. If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact the Student Success Management Office at Chemnitz University of Technology.
Surveys in a national context
The TUCpanel survey fits into a larger context of national study surveys. Under the direction of BMBF Comprehensive data on the social and economic situation of students has been collected for many years. These long-term surveys, including the social survey, the student survey and the survey on students with health impairments, provide important insights into the realities of life for students in Germany.
The last social survey was currently published in May 2023, which provides information, for example, about the effects of the corona pandemic on studying. The BMBF also funds special research projects that deal with the topics of student success and dropout. There is a particular focus on supporting students with health impairments, which has been part of the funding program for over 40 years.
