Professionals in office: New elections at the University of Flensburg bring a breath of fresh air!
On April 9, 2025, significant personnel changes were made to Faculty I at the European University of Flensburg (EUF). Prof. Dr. Maike Busker was appointed dean and Prof. Dr. Birgit Peuker confirmed in office as dean of studies. Prof. Dr. Maike Busker holds a chair in chemistry and didactics, while Prof. Dr. Birgit Peuker is responsible for the professional discipline of nutrition and home economics as well as their didactics. Faculty III and its leadership
Faculty III of the EUF also experienced a change in leadership on March 12, 2025. Here, Prof. Dr. Florian Bruckmann as dean and Prof. Dr. Marcel Smolka elected as dean of studies. Prof. Dr. Bruckmann, who is responsible for Catholic theology, and Prof. Dr. Smolka, who deals with international and institutional economics, will take over the responsibility from Prof. Dr. Tabea Scheel and Prof. Dr. Jürgen Budde.
The aim of introducing a middle management level with three faculties at the EUF is to comprehensively strengthen the decentralized ability to act and make decisions. The European University of Flensburg at a glance
The EUF was founded in 1946 as a university of education and gained university status in 1994.
