On May 14, 2025, the Bauhaus University Weimar will host a company contact fair. This event, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Mensa am Park at Marienstraße 15, is primarily aimed at students. Unemployment among architects is low and falling, with the lowest rate in a decade recorded in 2017. In Germany, there are currently 111,242 (building) architects registered in chamber lists, which corresponds to an increase of 0.88% compared to the previous year. There is also a remarkable ratio of building architects to residents: around 1.25 per 1,000 residents.

A relevant demographic problem is the aging of architects. About a third of structural architects are over 55 years old and will retire in the near future. While more than 50,000 students studied architecture or related disciplines in the 2016/2017 winter semester, this 20% increase over the last ten years shows a growing potential for skilled workers. It is recommended that architects also consider related disciplines and interdisciplinary courses.
