Networking for scientists: Workshop in Erfurt brings success!

On April 28, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the University of Erfurt a face-to-face workshop entitled “Networking on Events – Small Talk”. This workshop is aimed primarily at doctoral students and postdocs who want to improve their networking skills. The language of the workshop will be English.

The workshop offers practical strategies for confident and authentic networking at events. The goal is to build meaningful relationships that promote academic and professional development. Speaker Robert Kötter, an experienced academic careers coach and founder of TwentyOne Skills, will lead the event. Networking at major events

In addition to the offerings of the University of Erfurt, the ZEIT:Future Forum took place in the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce. This event is organized in cooperation with ChefTreff and deals with current topics such as the economic potential of private space travel for Europe, regulation of artificial intelligence and the responsibility of companies in the fight against fake news.

The forum attracts a wide range of participants, including experts, founders, scientists and politicians. Notable participants include personalities such as Düzen Tekkal and Insa Thiele-Eich. Target groups are aspiring talents, young managers and startups who want to gain valuable insights into today's challenges through keynotes, workshops and discussions.

Skills for successful networking

Another valuable offering to improve networking skills is a workshop run by Personal trainer Ortrun Blase is directed. This workshop deals with fair and successful networking and is aimed at everyone who aims to build and maintain an individual network in a time-effective manner. The content includes do’s and don’ts in networking as well as the importance of networking for starting a career.

Participants have the opportunity to develop an individual networking strategy and learn important skills for successful networking. An action plan to implement the networking goals is also created. This event was organized by the Potsdam Employment Agency in collaboration with the Career Service of the FU Berlin and offers an excellent opportunity to make professional contacts.
