Study information day at TU Ilmenau: Discover your future!
On May 10, 2025, the Technical University of Ilmenau will open its doors for this year's Study Information Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event takes place in the Humboldt Building, which is located at Gustav-Kirchhoff-Platz 1, 98693 Ilmenau. It is aimed particularly at high school students as well as their parents and other interested people. Enrollment in all bachelor's degree programs is numerus-clausus-free until September 15th.
As part of the study information day, visitors can expect an extensive program. Information and advice stands offer the opportunity for personal discussions about the various study programs. In addition, special lectures are offered for each course of study, where participants can address their questions directly to the lecturers. Topics such as stays abroad and studying with disabilities or chronic illnesses are also covered. Reported on this MyScience that all lectures will be broadcast online in order to reach a broader interest group.
Interactive offers and personal insights
Visitors can delve particularly intensively into the various fields of study thanks to interactive laboratory tours on topics such as robotics, virtual reality, autonomous driving and sustainability. Here, students have the opportunity to try out results from applied research projects for themselves. This provides an insight into the practical application of the knowledge imparted at the university.
In addition, employees of the university and the Thuringia Student Union are available to answer questions about applications, enrollment, housing and student financing. Personal conversations with students also provide valuable experiences about studying and life in Ilmenau. Tours of the university campus are conducted by students themselves, which makes the atmosphere even more authentic for visitors.
For younger guests, a special children's tour is offered from 10:15 a.m., which is aimed at preschool children and their parents. Here the little ones can discover exciting research topics. In addition, the university radio station hsf provides entertainment, while the student union provides meals. For further information or specific questions, interested parties can contact Dr. Contact Sandra Pöschl-Günther from the Central Student Advisory and Orientation Department directly on +49 3677 69-2021 or by email at sandra.poeschl@tu-ilmenau.de.
