Campus day in Karlsruhe: Discover the variety of study options!
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, the joint campus day of the Karlsruhe University of Education (PHKA) and the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) will take place. The event, which will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offers visitors the opportunity to discover the diverse range of courses offered by both institutions on the shared campus on Moltkestrasse. The PHKA, founded in 1962, specializes in teacher training. Historically, the training of teachers in Karlsruhe can even be traced back to 1757. There are currently 3,742 students and around 180 researchers and lecturers working at PHKA. PHKA's degree programs include, among other things, teacher training courses for primary and lower secondary levels as well as bachelor's and master's degree programs in areas such as sports, health, leisure education and biodiversity. A new, dual master's degree program for lower secondary level is aimed at graduates with a bachelor's degree in computer science or physics.
Insights into the study programs
Particular attention on the campus day will be paid to the “Karlsruhe School of Education” (KSE), a joint institution run by PHKA and KIT that deals with the development of innovative concepts for teacher training. Further highlights of the event include presentations on around 20 different teacher training subjects as well as a lecture on KSE at 10:15 a.m.
The HKA, which will also be on site, offers courses in engineering, computer science, economics and media. The many activities include the presentation of application and admission procedures as well as more specific study models such as the international bachelor's program and the cooperative study model StudiumPLUS.
Diverse supporting program
In addition, participants can look forward to information tents and stands where teachers and students will be available to help those interested with questions. StudiumPLUS partner companies will also be represented to provide practical insights. Project work and experience reports will be presented on the accompanying stage, helping visitors to develop a better understanding of the opportunities available to them as part of their training.
Physical well-being is not neglected at this event. A wide range of food and drinks will be provided so that participants can gather information and exchange information in a relaxed atmosphere.
