Campus Festival 2025: A festival for all generations in Cottbus!

The campus festival will take place at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg on June 18, 2025, an event with the aim of bringing people of all generations and cultures together. This event not only features music, but is also highlighted by numerous activities that promote a sense of community. The BTU Cottbus reports that The program offers an exciting mix of classical, pop, live music and dance.

The festival will be opened by high-ranking representatives, including the President of the BTU, Prof. Gesine Grande, as well as Robert Perko, the city councilor for the city of Cottbus, and Tom Riedel, the chairman of the citizens' association. A special highlight will be the Open Symphonic Orchestra, which will play on the main stage, accompanied by performances by instrumental and vocal pedagogy students.

Diverse program

A variety of bands are expected to perform at the campus festival, including “Kassettenricardo,” “If you need it,” “Larrikins” and “Mutabor.” For younger visitors, there is a children's activity area where activities such as face painting, bouncy castles and volleyball are offered. Catering is also available, with coffee, cake and barbecue offerings adding to the convivial atmosphere.

The campus festival receives support from local institutions and organizations such as Krasse Lausitz, the BTU student council and Velero Management GmbH. The cooperation with the Kultur-Campus Sachsendorf, the Bürgerverein Sachsendorf/Madlow e.V. and M2B e.V. illustrates the close networking and commitment of the community to this event.

Accessibility in focus

An important aspect of the campus festival is accessibility. The MIZ emphasizes that Access to events must be ensured for everyone and the event should meet the requirement of a discrimination-free space. For this purpose, wheelchair-accessible mats and an inclusion stand will be installed in front of the Indie Stage. A specially trained awareness team, identified by pink CREW shirts and balloons, will be on site to offer support.

A contact person is available for festival visitors who have questions about accessibility: 0174 8123112. The initiative for barrier-free events has gained in importance in recent years, not least due to mandatory compliance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN-BRK). Despite the challenges that still exist in the private event industry, there is an increasing trend towards implementing inclusive measures.

The campus festival not only represents a platform for music and art, but also sets an example for community and inclusion. With a varied program and a focus on accessibility and participation, the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg would like to celebrate a festival for everyone that will be remembered.
