Discover the Viadrina: the open day inspires international prospective students!
On June 25, 2025, the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) opened its doors to more than 500 prospective students. The event attracted participants from various cities such as Berlin, Brandenburg, Dresden, Braunschweig, Gdańsk, Wrocław and even the USA. An impressive range of activities was offered to give potential students an insight into the study options.
The Vice President for Transfer and Campus, Janine Nuyken, welcomed those present and introduced the university with its international profile. A particular focus of Viadrina is on German-Polish cooperation, which is a decisive argument for many prospective students. Around 40 percent of students come from more than 100 countries, which underlines the international orientation of the university.
Diverse activities and programs
The participants had the opportunity to find out about various study programs and take part in specialist lectures in lecture halls. Topics such as artificial intelligence and communication between animals and humans were covered, which made the lecture program particularly interesting. Individual advice on study programs, financing options, scholarships and stays abroad were also offered. Employees from the fields of cultural studies, law and economics as well as the European New School of Digital Studies and the Collegium Polonicum in Słubice were present.
Particularly noteworthy were the campus tours and the bus tours to the student residences. All of these activities were accompanied by a free lunch in the cafeteria for all visitors, which further contributed to the positive atmosphere of the event. This meant that visitors could not only obtain information, but also talk to each other in a convivial atmosphere.
Preparation for the summer semester 2025
The open day was an excellent opportunity to prepare for the upcoming 2025 summer semester. Another information day will take place at Viadrina on January 25, 2025, which is specifically aimed at prospective students who are interested in the summer semester. Presentations from the three faculties as well as individual consultation tables are planned.
The range of courses includes law, international business administration and cultural studies. Students have the opportunity to choose various international programs such as the Master of European Studies and International Business Administration. The registration deadline for non-admission degree programs ends on March 15th, which provides an additional incentive for those interested to take part in the upcoming events.
With these offers, Viadrina not only demonstrates its commitment to excellent education, but also its openness towards international students. Given the variety of study options in Germany, which can also be found in other federal states such as Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria, Viadrina remains an attractive option for anyone seeking a high-quality and internationally oriented education. Information about other international study programs can be found on Hochschulkompass.
Overall, the open day was a complete success and offered an excellent platform for prospective students who are looking for a suitable university.
