Law and its perspectives

The aim of studying law is to give students a deeper understanding of legal texts. Through the training, which is divided into two sections, graduates acquire the ability to understand and apply law. As a rule, studying law lasts nine semesters and is completed with the first state examination in law. This examination includes a compulsory state examination and a university focus examination. After completing your studies, there is a two-year traineeship, which ends with the second state examination in law. Only after successfully completing both exams are graduates qualified to practice traditional legal professions such as lawyer, public prosecutor or notary.

A growing trend in the field of law is courses that lead to a bachelor's or master's degree and often offer a combination with other disciplines such as economics, medicine or media studies. These interdisciplinary approaches optimally prepare students for the challenges of the modern professional world.
