The concert marks a special moment for the Trio Abstract, as the members have completed their studies in the Folkwang Konzertexamen excellence course. This degree is the highest that German music universities can award. The evening's program includes works such as “Vuoi che perduti” by Marco Momi and “in competence” by Michael Edwards. The event is supported by the Manfred and Ursula Müller Foundation.

The Trio Abstract is known for his committed work in the field of contemporary chamber music. In recent years the ensemble has interpreted works by well-known composers such as Isabel Mundry, Franck Bedrossian and Alberto Posadas. Using a wide range of instruments, including various saxophones and homemade percussion instruments, the trio creates a sonic experience that spans various musical styles.

Innovative approaches in chamber music

A central goal of the ensemble is to present “music of today” within a framework of artistic tradition. The Trio Abstract actively participates in new concert formats, such as the “spotlight” and “confluences” series, which promote collaboration between composers and musicians. Appearances at major international festivals such as the Biennale di Venezia and the NOW! Festival underline the ensemble's valuable contribution to contemporary music.

The Institute for Contemporary Music The Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts promotes this type of ensemble culture, which is viewed as the basis for excellent music-making. Chamber music is not only part of the training at the HfMDK, but also a central part of the music scene in Germany, which is reinforced by programs and competitions such as the Chamber Music Competition of the Polytechnic Society.
