Specialist magazines and their importance

“Management Science” is published by the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS) and sees itself as a platform for innovation and scientific exchange. The journal includes contributions from various management disciplines, including operations management, strategy, innovation, marketing, finance and organizational behavior.

Given the growing complexity in the areas of operations and supply chain management, the publication of the journal *Operations and Supply Chain Management: An International Journal (OSCM)* has also become increasingly important. OSCM is aimed at academics, researchers, students and practitioners who wish to read articles in the areas of Operations Management and Supply Chain Management. This journal publishes high-quality, peer-reviewed articles and invites a variety of original contributions, including both empirical and conceptual work.

Current developments in research

As part of these developments, OSCM is in a phase of change and improvement. The journal's Submission Management System allows users to track the status of their submitted manuscripts and manage revisions. In addition, since 2017, the frequency of publications has been increased from three to four issues per year in order to do justice to the increasing popularity and quality of the submitted work. The online version of the articles is accessible free of charge, which significantly supports the dissemination of the research.

Submissions are currently being processed for a special issue on topics such as artificial intelligence, cyber-physical systems and decision-making in operations and supply chain management. This special issue is part of OSCM's ongoing commitment to promote innovative research and support the exchange of knowledge in this dynamic discipline.
