TU Ilmenau is preparing for an exciting time for all new students. The Freshers' Week, also known as study introductory week, takes place onOctober 5thstart. This week, the freshmen have the opportunity to get to know not only the university, but also the city of Ilmenau and their fellow students. The TU Ilmenau reports that the kick-off will take place in the form of an introductory barbecue where the first-year students can meet their tutors.
Tutors are voluntary students who support new students during this important phase. The organization of the numerous activities is carried out by the ErstiWochen-Orga (EWO), a department of the student council. This is done with the active support of various student associations on campus, including Bergfest e.V., ISWI e.V., ILSC e.V. and SWING e.V. All institutions have the goal of giving freshmen a comprehensive introduction to life at the university.
Highlights of the first week
The official start of the study introductory week is onOctober 6tharound9.30amin the auditorium. This welcoming event will feature a panel discussion addressing the question “How can I start my studies as successfully as possible?" is the focus. Various introductions to the study programs, campus and city tours as well as IT and library training are planned for the remainder of the week.
