New shine for the Justus von Liebig School: MKV is moving!
On April 1, 2025, the Vechta Media Competence Center (MKV) will move to new premises. The University of Vechta announced this in a press release published on March 19, 2025. The new location is at Kolpingstraße 25 in Vechta. The renovation and renewal of the Justus von Liebig School, in whose context the MKV operates, is accompanied by this move. The freshly designed rooms of the MKV continue to offer a place to meet, exchange and experiment.
Annekatrin Bock, the scientific director of the MKV, was positive about the new opportunities that the change of location brings with it. Especially in times when digital technologies are exerting an ever greater influence on education, the promotion of media education processes is seen as a central task of the MKV. The aim is to initiate a discussion about the future prospects of schools, teaching and media education.
Opening times and information
The new opening hours of the MKV are from Monday to Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and on Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Current information about MKV's offerings is available on their website: mkv-vechta.de.
Clauses from the press release indicate that the MKV remains relevant for media pedagogical, didactic, scientific and technical perspectives. The move is intended to further strengthen its function as a platform for exchange and learning attempts.
Internationalization at the Justus von Liebig School
Parallel to the developments at MKV, the Justus von Liebig School is also committed to internationalization. A team with a total of six members, led by Krisztina Holzenkamp, is responsible for certifying the school as a “European School in Lower Saxony”. The members are:
