Postdoctoral scholarships for women: Apply now and secure your future!
The management of the University of Paderborn has launched a new program to promote women in science. This program includes the announcement of postdoctoral fellowships that are intended to specifically support talented female scientists after their doctorate.
The application deadline for these scholarships ends on September 15, 2025. This gives highly qualified women the opportunity to shape their career path in research and teaching. Two different funding lines are being advertised, which are specifically tailored to the needs of young female scientists.
Details about the funding lines
The first funding line offers a scholarship as start-up funding in the postdoc phase. In particular, projects that pursue an innovative research direction should be supported. The second funding line aims to provide financial support to female scientists during their habilitation by providing them with a final scholarship.
The scholarships run for 18 months and offer a monthly funding amount of 2,400 euros. The award is made by the University Executive Board based on a recommendation from the Commission for Research and Young Scientists. Applications may only be submitted by young researchers themselves.
Funding programs nationwide
Supporting women in science is not just a concern of the University of Paderborn. According to a report from GESIS, awareness of the need for such funding is currently increasing. These initiatives are critical to increasing visibility and equality in science, particularly in disciplines traditionally dominated by men.
